Zovko: You’ll watch the fighters you see next to me at Final Fight again!

Martial arts fans in Croatia finally have a world-class fighting organization, as was evident from the level of production and the quality of the fights at this year's first Final Fight Championship event in Split, with another event in Zadar already pending.

Following the Final Fight 3 matches at the Gripe venue, the leading stars of the event spoke briefly to the media.
"It was a hard fight, Catinas is an outstanding opponent. Several weeks before the fight I injured my fist, but there wasn't a single moment when I thought about cancelling. I'd like to thank Mr. Orsat Zovko for inviting me," Igor Jurkovic said after achieving a great win over dangerous Romanian Raul Catinas in his first fight this year. Catinas was very brief in his comment of the match. "It was an excellent event and a great fight against Igor," Raul said.

One of the event's biggest stars was the impressive Ukrainian Pavel Zhuravlev, who defeated his Italian opponent Luca Panto without much trouble. "I'm glad I'm back in Croatia after the K-1 WGP Final. Congrats to the organizers for a great show, I hope the crowd enjoyed it," Pavel said.

There is no question that the biggest surprise of the event was Tomislav Spahovic from neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, who reached a major win despite being considered an underdog against heavily-favored Christian Golcic. "Nobody had expected me to do this well, I know I've surprised many people. I attacked Golcic with his own weapon. I hope Mr. Zovko will give me an opportunity to fight in one of the next FFC events," Spahovic revealed his wish.

The head of Final Fight also addressed the present journalists. "We believe the crowd enjoyed it and that we've fulfilled the expectations. I can already guarantee that these fighters you see here will participate in some of the upcoming FFC events," Orsat Zovko said.
