Ex-UFC fighter McSweeney set to join FFC!

The FFC roster looks likely to be expanded with another rather interesting name. Former UFC fighter James McSweeney announced via his Facebook profile his upcoming fight in an FFC event.

McSweeney would not reveal who might be his opponent, but he mentioned a date and Czech Republic, even though Fight Site has no knowledge of an FFC event being held there this year.

"My next fight is on November 16 in Czech Republic. I will be in a Final Fight Championship event, and the opponent's name is soon to be announced. I'm very happy about that fight, especially because it's under Pride rules. I'm sure this will work great with my fighting style," James said.

According to Fight Site's info, the FFC has plans to hold an event in Skopje, Macedonia, around that date, but there is still no official confirmation from the organization's boss Orsat Zovko.

Thirty-two-year-old McSweeney has a rather sizable K-1 and MMA experience, and he had his last fight in the cage against Paul Buentello at the Legacy 10 event, losing by a TKO in the second round. Previously, he was successful against Dion Staring in Florida, defeating him within a minute. His MMA record stands at 11 wins and as many losses.
