Undefeated Vanderford Battles Freitas Oct. 19

Las Vegas, NV, (October 18, 2018) – The Co-Main Event is set for FFC 32, which takes place Friday, Oct. 19th at Fight Dome located at Rio Las Vegas.

Edmilson “The Amazonian Warrior” Freitas (7-2-0), Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil will take on Austin “AK-47” Vanderford (5-0-0), Portland, OR in a welterweight MMA contest that could have Final Fight Championship title implications for the victor.

Freitas is  fun to watch with an explosive style that has resulted in three knockout victories and two wins by punches thrown in a ground and pound scenario.  His last victory, in March of this year against Cedric Marks, ended at the 2:42 mark of the second round due to a series of punches.

The Brazilian warrior is on a two-fight win streak and is looking to use the Vegas stage to prove he belongs with the elite fighters. Not to mention, Freitas is hoping to hand Vanderford his first taste of defeat on Oct. 19th.

The aforementioned Vanderford hasn’t fought since tying the knot with UFC Flyweight fighter, Paige VanZant. The two exchanged vows on September 29th in a beachfront wedding ceremony.

Vanderford is still undefeated with five straight victories, the last of which took place on July 17th as a part of the second season of “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.”  During the reality television program, Vanderford defeated Angelo Trevino by rear naked choke at the 2:42 mark of the second round.

The man the call “AK-47” has won two of his fights by rear naked choke, two by unanimous decision, and his first fight, which took place in March of 2017, was won by first round TKO.

Vanderford’s ultimate goal is join his new bride, VanZant, on the UFC roster and he is well aware that a victory over Freitas on Friday night, Oct 19th, will move him one step closer to attaining that goal.

Will Freitas play the role of spoiler, or will Vanderford keep his unblemished record in tact? We shall see on Friday night, Oct. 19th at FFC 32, which takes place at Fight Dome at Rio Las Vegas.

The event will air on CBS Sports Network.  Check your local listings for more information.
