Roberto Neves: “The Technician Will Always Be The Stronger Fighter.”

Las Vegas, NV, (Oct. 11, 2018)Roberto “Facada” Neves (10-3-0) will battle Ben Egli (10-2-0) for the FFC MMA Welterweight Title on Friday, Oct. 12 at the all-new Fight Dome located at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Neves answered questions about his “FFC 31 Night of Champions” Co-Main Event vs. Egli.

Q: What has the experience been like training with the legendary Anderson Silva?

A: “I am training with the best there is (Anderson Silva), he is one of the guys that has the most accurate timing and he is such a technician when he is in battle.  I learned a lot from him and I practiced hard to make sure I can put on a great show for the fans just like Silva did throughout his legendary career in the sport. I know that the technician will always be the stronger fighter so I try to stay in that mindset and pick my opponents apart every time I step into the ring/cage.”

Q: Why are you so patient in the heat of battle and what do you attribute that to?

A: “I always work very hard to study my craft and pay attention to every single detail. It is important to pick up on your opponent’s weaknesses so you can try to exploit and expose them early in the fight. You can’t just fight, you have to always be thinking too and a lot goes through my mind in there and I never want to make any mistakes. That’s what I remind myself constantly.”

Q: Many people have commented about your very powerful high kicks, especially since the KO victory at FFC 24 vs. Valdir Araujo, how confident are you with your kicks?

A: “I love kicking, I really do and it is definitely a strength of mine. I am a stand up fighter and I train for my kicks all of the time I am in the gym. On the FFC 24 highlight that you’re speaking of (KO victory vs. Araujo) that went all over social media, I actually trained specifically for that kick and I timed it just right. I have strong kicks and strong legs and I got the result I wanted that day and I’m hoping for the same result against Ben Egli on Friday night (Oct. 12).”
