Milinkovic’s strength and conditioning coach tries to explain the reasons behind his defeat

Marko Kutlesa, Sasa Milinkovic’s strength and conditioning coach, tried to explain the reasons behind the defeat of this heavyweight fighter from Osijek, Croatia, who was brutally knocked out at the FFC 13 event by Ruben Wolf from Germany.

Sasa Milinkovic’s and Ivica Tadijanov’s strength and conditioning coach, Marko Kutlesa, had his own explanation of Sasa’s incredible loss in strength. “I think we did not time the conditioning properly”, he briefly stated in the beginning.

Sasa Milinkovic did great in the first round having everything under control. However, in a couple occasions he tried to end the fight but did not manage. After a break it seemed as if a different person stepped into the ring and he could not follow the rhythm of the bout anymore.

Two months ago Milinkovic had a match in Osijek against Stefan Traunmuller and he seemed extremely prepared. “We did not have a lot of time to prepare and we barely did real strength and conditioning trainings ever since his last match. Sasa decided to skip them and to focus on technique and tactics, that is, sparring”, explained Kutlesa.

But then he revealed another problem: “That was not on a top level since he sparred only with Ivica. I think the key factor was the fact that he did not have enough sparring partners. Moreover, he has constant problems with hay fever and he was not able to breathe properly.”

However, Kulesa knows that you live and you learn: “Now we all know where we made a mistake and we will surely fix that and do a better job in the future. At least that’s what I think.”
