The last FFC event before the summer break is to take place exactly two weeks from now in the Sports Centre Visnjik in Zadar, Croatia. The event is to be headlined by one of the world’s best light heavyweight kickboxers and Glory member, Igor Jurkovic.

Jurkovic is set to take on Luis Tavares from Cape Verde at FFC 13. Despite having a great start this year by defeating Michael Duut at Glory 14 Zagreb, Jurkovic lost his last match at Glory 16 Denver against Artem Vakhitov from Russia.

In the match mentioned, Jurko was simply not himself and the excellent Russian fighter knocked him down with a direct punch already in the first round. Jurkovic managed to get up and carry on, but Vakhitov dominated the match and scored a victory. The reason to Igor’s poor performance will be analyzed by his coach, Leo Komsic, but it was evident that he lacked freshness and speed. His series were slow and meek while his punches and kick were weaker than usual.

After losing to Vakhitonov, Igor carried on with trainings having in mind the new match in front of him in Zadar. The official King’s Facebook page yesterday published Igor working on his cardio prior to his bout with Tavares.
