Jasmin Bajrović: Via “not impressive” Bilić to rematch with FFC champ

The only match at FFC 27 Night of Champions that will not be a title bout is the one between Jasmin Bajrović and Ivan Bilić in the kickboxing part of the event. Instead for the FFC gold, Bajrović will get a new chance to retaliate for the loss to Bilić and to secure a title bout against FFC welterweight champion Eyevan Danenber.

“Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by the invitation to this big event. This event includes best FFC fighters and therefore I will give my best and I will prepare even better this time. I think my hometown audience will see the best version of me.”

2016 was really intense for Bajrović. His new FFC match will also be his 8th fight this year.

“This year I fought every three weeks, and it’s a good thing I was able to get some rest from the matches. So now I have the strength and I prepared very hard. I am motivated by the fact that my victory could most likely ensure the title fight.”

But before the title fight Bajrović must defeat Ivan Bilić. This talented fighter from Pula, Croatia, coming from Trojan Gym, did an excellent match at FFC in Linz when he brutally KO’ed his opponent Kristijan Franjić in the first round. But Bajrović is not impressed.

“I respect him as a fighter, he comes from Zelg’s school. But I respect every fighter with whom I enter the ring. Every opponent is a legitimate threat and it is important to prepare well and prove that I’m better. I watched the event in Linz, as well as each FFC. He did a good match, knocked out the opponent, but I can say I was not impressed because I think I can defeat every fighter in this category. I see some holes in his style that and I plan to use that. “

That same evening when Bilić won via KO, FFC crowned its first welterweight champion – Eyevan Danenberg. Bajrović fought this Glory fighter last year at FFC 18 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The match ended in additional fourth round which was fatal for Bajrović.

“I have to admit that Dannenberg is a great fighter, one of the best in the world in this category. I’ve already done one match with him. We went to an extra round in which he  managed to stop me the punch in the liver, and honestly, I’d like to get a chance to fight him, not just because of the title but also to even the score. Revenge is always sweet. “

Revenge will have to wait, but Arena Zagreb will not. Therefore, Bajrović also invited all his fans to come and support him in this very important match.

“On this occasion, I would like to invite all my fans, family and friends to come to Zagreb Arena December 17 to support me and I promise I will deliver a great show.”
