TUF Finalist Matt Van Buren latest addition to the FFC roster

LOS ANGELES – 30-year old American fighter Matt “Gutter” Van Buren (7-4-0) is one of the latest reinforcements to Final Fight Championship roster who signed a contract with this European promotion right before their first events in the United States. A member of famous Blackzilians signed a three fights contracts and he will have his debut on June 3 at FFC 24 in Daytona Beach, Florida, against Jeremy Kimball (12-5-0).

“I’m excited to be fighting for the FFC. I have heard nothing but amazing things about the promotion and look forward to being apart of their USA debut,“ said Matt Van Buren upon signing the contract.

This 195 cm tall fighter competes in the light heavyweight division and he already fought for two world’s best MMA promotions – UFC and Bellator. Unfortunately for him, his career in the Ultimate Fighting Championship was short lived and this fighter born in Norfolk, Virginia, got released after two losses in the Octagon. He came to the UFC via The Ultimate Fighter 19 that was coached by Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn. After three impressive wins in TUF, ‘The Gutter’ made it to the finals against Corey Anderson. Despite the loss in finals, Van Buren got another shot against Sean O’Connell, but failed. The only match he did after the UFC was the one at EWC 9 event in February 2016 when he won via stoppage.
