Ivan Zidar ready to seize the opportunity

Ivan Zidar is a 22 year old kickboxer from Osijek and he is to fight in the first match of the FFC 11 event. He is happy he got this opportunity and believes that the audience from his hometown will help him to score the big victory.

Zidar's greatest success so far was the Croatian senior champion (-63 kg) title at a championship that took place in Šibenik. This success secured him a chance to take part in the world championship in Brazil where he did an excellent first match and then lost in the second.

"I am satisfied with the first match since I beat the Kazakhstani fighter who was favorite, while I certainly cannot be satisfied with the second match that I lost with a difference of only a couple of punched. But you learn and you move on", said Zidar about his bouts in Brazil.

It is surely quite important for such a young fighter to be invited to sign up for FFC and have a match at such a high level which Zidar admitted himself: "This invitation means a lot to me since FFC is growing bigger every day and we fighters have a chance to prove ourselves and see where we stand. When I received the invitation I said that was the real thing and an opportunity to show my abilities."

Zidar is to face Samuel Hadzim from Slovenia whom Ivan already fought before. "I know he is a tough fighter and very explosive, but so am I. It will be a fast paced match full of action", he said and added something about fighting before his hometown audience: "Stage fright is always present, but I believe that fighting before my hometown audience will help me and I cannot wait for the match to come."

Ivan is a member of Croatian Defense Forces and he is currently stationed in Pozega, meaning that he is extremely fit. Despite the fact that he did not have a lot of fighting training lately, he believes he is ready. "I am very fit. I maintain my stamina through matches. I had as much as six matches in the last month and a half", said Zidar convinced in his good performance at FFC11.
