FFC President Orsat Zovko on FFC 24: It was our first event in the US and I’m happy. There were brutal KO’s and big surpirses

FFC 24 took place last Friday in Daytona Beach, Florida, and received excellent feedback from the American audience due to its top production, unique concept that combines MMA and kickboxing in one evening and excellent fight card. Above all, the event was broadcasted live on CBS Sports.

The MMA part of the event was made of six matches and ended up with two memorable KO’s, while the kickboxing part of the event was headlined by Croatia’s kickboxer Mladen Brestovac who managed to defend his title against American fighter Steven Banks.

After the hype settled down a bit, FFC President Orsat Zovko shared his impressions on the FFC debut in the US.

“For us the most important thing was CBS and to present FFC to the American audience in the best way possible since it was available in 65 million households. We had to make sure that CBS is happy and we got the confirmation about it right after the event. The crowd was great. Ocean Center is a huge arena that can take up to 8000 spectators. I have to be happy about it all, it was out first event in the US. We had some 3500 spectators and there were some nice KO’s and some big surprises,“ said FFC President Orsat Zovko and added:

“Fight of the night? I’d say Jeremy Kimball who KO’ed Matt Van Buren. Matt Van Buren was favorite and he was TUF finalist as well. So, that guy has a lot of experience. It was a big surprise. I think it’s now a FFC record. KO in 14 seconds.”

FFC is coming up with another event this Friday in Springfield, MA. Join us at MassMutual Center or watch FFC 25 live this Friday at 8 PM on www.fightchanneltv.com.
