Dennis Morris: “My Goal Is To Win All My Fights.”

Las Vegas, NV, (Oct. 10, 2012)Dennis “The Mongoose” Morris (14-2-1) will take on Shawn Miller (18-4-1) for the WBU Cruiserweight Title on Friday, Oct. 12 at the all-new Fight Dome Las Vegas located inside the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

Dennis Morris answered questions about his upcoming bout with Shawn Miller at “FFC 31 Night of Champions – Collard vs. Courchaine.”

Q: With the fight just a couple of days away, what is going through your mind right now?

A: “My goal is to win all my fights but, as you can see, I do have two losses on my record with one ending in a knockout! Just as I would like to win Oct. 12, 2018 fight, I know my opponent Shawn Miller is planning to do the same. I am a person that does not brag about winning or makes predictions because we all know that it only takes one knockout punch.”

Q: You are replacing Marquice Weston, Shawn’s original opponent, how do you stay focused as a fighter when you’re given a few week’s notice?

A: “I am training in the gym to prepare me for this fight but I only had a two week window of notification prior to fight night. I feel that I have just as good of a chance of winning as Miller and I will do all my talking in the ringI never met my opponent neither have I heard of him prior to being offered this opportunity with FFC. I have not had a professional fight in the last 7 1/2 months (since February 10, 2018) so it may be a difficult match for me. However, I am optimistic and confident that I will fight my best fight.

Q: When you think of championship fights in The Fight Capital of The World – Las Vegas, what comes to mind?

A: “When I think about championship fights in Las Vegas, I always wished that I would have a chance at the same opportunity one day because not all fighters get that chance. A fight in Las Vegas on this big of a stage is a blessing. Fighting for a title in Las Vegas, The Boxing Capital of the World, is the opportunity of a lifetime and I am grateful to all involved for this opportunity and I am more than excited to have my first fight in Las Vegas for FFC and for the WBU championship belt.”
