Darko Stošić reveals what he’ll remember the most about his FFC 25 win

Last minute change of the opponent did not mess with Darko Stošić’s plan to leave the United States with yet another victory. Manny Murillo showed great desire and courage when he stepped in only on few days’ notice and replaced Dion Staring, but it was not enough to make it more than one minute with this Serbian heavyweight.

What Stošić showed in Springfield only confirmed the fact that the organizers made the right decision when they gave this 24 year old fighter a title shot against veteran such as Staring. Stošić did not celebrate this new win right away in the ring because, as he said, “I won and that feeling is enough for me.”

Murillo’s dangerous high kick

“He opened the match well. His high kick shook me pretty much but I knew he will not be able to withstand my punches so I just let him let it all out. Then I started with combinations and shook him well right after the first punch. He was done with the next one that landed on him.”

Michael Buffer announced him, Herb Dean proclaimed him a winner

“The two of them are really legends in this business. Their presence gave me an immense pleasure and more motivation. Congratulations to FFC-in on it. They did a great job! ”

Murillo believes the match was stopped too soon…

“Top referee like Herb Dean does not make mistakes!”

Darko will not remember Springfield only for his win

“Except for the fact that I won, I will remember this FFC for even better production and 8 meters tall poster with me that was placed on the arena.“

With four consecutive wins, Stošić confirmed his position as a contender and it is only a matter of time when he is to fight Staring for the title.

“FFC officials will decide about that, but one thing is for sure – I’m coming for the belt!”

During his first stay in the US, Darko visited a BJJ legend

“I stayed in the US for three more days after the match so that I could visit New York and spend some time in Renzo Gracie’s camp. It was definitely a new and wonderful experience for me,” concluded Stošić.

After FFC’s US debut, this talented young fighter now has four consecutive wins in the FFC ring and became No 7 on P4P rankings where his next opponent, Dion Staring, holds the No 1 position.
