"Croata" Barrio joins the FFC, set to make his debut in Sarajevo!

The FFC has brought another top young fighter in its ranks. As of today, the Final Fight Championship's website features a profile of the Croatian/Argentinian fighter Francisco Barrio. Moreover, Barrio has been added to the already strong fight card for the upcoming FFC07 event scheduled for September 13 in the Zetra Sarajevo venue. It is still unknown who will be the first opponent for this flamboyant fighter in his FFC debut.

We are bringing you "Croata's" full profile as published on the FFC website below…

Croata Barrio or, as is his full name is, Francisco Albano "Croata" Barrio is definitely a breath of fresh air in the lower weight classes of the FFC's MMA roster. Raised in Zagreb, Croatia, this Argentinian is equally proud of both of his homelands, a fact he is happy to point out.

Born in 1989 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he soon moved with his family to the Croatian capital where he grew up and stayed until 2005.  His life story is even more interesting by the virtue of the fact that his father Rodolfo Barrio Saavedra was a brigadier in the Croatian Army and very actively involved in the Croatian War of Independence. This is the backbone of his firm link with his second homeland of Croatia.

"Croata" began his journey in martial sports in Lokomotiva, a wrestling club in Zagreb, where his indisputable talent soon surfaced, as well as his spartan will to train. After returning to South America, Barrio continued to be actively involved in wrestling. Between 2006 and 2012 he won 7 national wrestling champion titles in Argentina, successfully representing the Argentinian national wrestling team in various international competitions.

In parallel with wrestling, he began training other martial arts and in 2012 made his debut in the professional MMA ring. Since then, he has recorded three easy wins by stoppage in the first round.
