Batinic: FFC in Osijek was phenomenal

Matej Batinic recorded another win in his professional MMA career at FFC 5 in Osijek.

The young and talented fighter from Zagreb commented on the course of his match for Fight Site.

"The atmosphere at FFC 5 in Osijek was great, with each new event the interest in martial arts in Croatian is growing. After my successful debut in this organization in Split, my second fight also went great. My opponent in Osijek was Hungarian Attila Petrovszki, I didn't know a lot about him, since they changed my opponent two days before the fight, after Hungarian Sandor Okros, who I'd prepared to fight, got injured, I guess."

"Anyway, I expected a physically strong wrestler in the ring. I studied his stand up with my coach Bernard Ban and we decided to go for a stand up since we thought there was little danger coming from his left jabs and left leg throws. But, since he seemed somehow unstable of his feet I decided to throw him, which I did in the first try. I dominated  in the ground game, got into full mount and started with GNP. I expected a TKO stoppage, but since I didn't manage to do it, after he pulled out from ground to stand-up and after I took him down again I decided to end the fight with my special – RNC."

"Compared to the low turnout in Split, the crowd in Osijek was phenomenal and thanks for the support and cheering. My biggest thanks go to my sparring partners Bruno Škudar and Antonio Mijatovic who are destroying me in training and I've become only better with them, and to my coach Bernard Ban. Also thanks to Ivan Gluhak who I did preparations with for this fight and to his coach Leon Beneta," Matej said.
