Golcic: This is a fantastic opportunity for my career, the crowd won’t be disappointed!

Christian Golcic was born in Sweden, but his roots are in Croatia. He is also K-1 and Muay Thai fighter Veronika Golcic's little brother. His sister has already had a few fights in our region, earning some recognition in the process. It was precisely in Croatia's Umag where Christian had his MMA debut last summer and defeated Drazen Glavas, an MMA League Croatia finalist, by stoppage in the first round.

After a fairly successful Muay Thai career, he has steered his career lately toward MMA fighting, and he will have his third bout in Split, looking for another win in his career on April 19 in the Velika dvorana Gripe venue.

Final Fight is back on the scene with some big plans. How much does it mean for your career to fight in such an organization, which plans to become one of the best in the world after a certain period?

"This opportunity really means a lot to me. I've taken this fight very seriously because I want to show my full potential during the fight in Split. I'm very happy that I have the opportunity to participate in an event like this."

Can you tell us something about your opponent?

"From what I've managed to find out about him, Tomislav Spahovic is a fairly explosive wrestler. He seems to be a pretty tough fighter and you can be sure he's not a harmless opponent, so there's no talk of underestimating him in any way."

How are your preparations progressing and will there be any special tactics for this fight?

"I've studied my opponent pretty well, and I can only say I'll be fully prepared for the fight against him. I wouldn't go into details on this occasion."

Can you give us your prediction for the main event between Igor Jurkovic and Raul Catinas?

"I expect Igor's arm to be raised after the fight. He is a very good fighter and I believe he will give everything he can because he wants to triumph in front of his home crowd in Croatia."

Which Final Fight 3 bout seems the most interesting to you?

"I'll be honest and say I expect my fight to be the most interesting one at Final Fight 3. I'm completely focused on that fight and aware that with a good display I can open many doors for myself. Other than my fight against Spahovic, another stand-out for me is the Jurkovic vs Catinas main event, but I believe Ante Delija's fight will be very interesting for the crowd."

Are there already any further plans for your career after Final Fight?

"Contacts with many managers and promoters have been very frequent lately. I can say there's quite a lot of interest for my fights, but I don't have anything official yet, so I wouldn’t go into details at this point."

The K-1 WGP Final is behind us, what are your personal impressions of the event and Cro Cop's fights?

"It was an event at a very high level and I regret not being at Arena Zagreb. I was really impressed by Mirko's performance and I'm really happy that one of my favorite fighters ever won the K-1 WGP Final.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Final Fight team for giving me this opportunity. They can be sure I won't disappoint anyone. I invite everyone to come to the arena on April 19 and be ready for a true spectacle," Christian said for Fight Site.
